CAHI Announces New Officers
CAHI elects J. Michael Davis as Chairman for 2008-2009
Alexandria, VA -- The Council for Affordable Health Insurance (CAHI) (http://www.cahi.org) announced its 2008-2009 officers at its April 22 board meeting in Washington, D.C. J. Michael Davis, Senior Vice President, Government Relations for The MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company, was elected Chairman of the Board.
"Health care reform is the major domestic issue facing this country today, and CAHI is among the leaders in the national debate," said Davis. "I am privileged to be associated with an organization that is known for its thoughtful and common-sense proposals for reform, and we will build on that tradition in the coming year."
Dr. Merrill Matthews, Executive Director of CAHI, said, "We are very excited about this new set of officers. Given the challenges involved in health care reform, both at the federal level and in the states, the organization -- and the country -- needs people with exceptional knowledge of the health insurance industry and a vision for improving it. We believe our board has both."
