J.P. Wieske
J.P. Wieske is the executive director of the Council for Affordable Health
Insurance (CAHI), headquartered in Alexandria, VA.
Mr. Wieske joined the Council in 2003 as director of state affairs. In that
capacity, J.P. has led CAHI’s state advocacy efforts, regularly testifying
before numerous state legislatures, and has become a requested speaker for industry
conferences. He is regularly quoted in trade and mainstream media, and is the
co-author of several publications including: “State Legislators Guide
to Health Insurance Solutions;” “Health Insurance Mandates in the
States;” “Understanding the Uninsured;” and the Pacific Research
Institute’s “What States Can Do to Reform Health Care: A Free Market
Primer.”
Mr. Wieske is also the former chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council’s
(ALEC) Health Reform Working Group and the Price Transparency Subgroup, and
was named ALEC’s 2008 Private Sector Member of the Year.
J.P. has a degree in political science and economics from Carroll College, and lives in Green Bay, WI, with his family.
