Internships

An internship with the Council for Affordable Health Insurance (CAHI) offers students an exceptional opportunity to gain solid work experience while learning first-hand about the relationships between health policy issues, state and federal legislation, free-market reform and the health insurance industry. Working side-by-side with CAHI staff, interns will have the opportunity to observe the political process and to work directly on policy issues. The intern will be actively involved with CAHI’s daily operations which will provide a portfolio of experience that can be applied to a future career on Capitol Hill, in trade associations, think tanks or the private, for-profit sector.

Interns are accepted year-round and are assigned to one of several departments within the Council depending on their interests, skills and availability: Public Affairs, Regulatory and Legislative Affairs or Member Services/Conference Planning & Operations.
