Who We Are

The mission of the Council for Affordable Health Insurance (CAHI) is to develop and promote free market solutions to America's health care challenges. Our objective is to enable a robust and competitive health insurance market that will achieve and maintain access to affordable, high quality health care for all Americans.

CAHI is an association of small and mid-sized insurance companies, actuarial firms, legislative consultants, physicians and insurance agents. CAHI has published numerous studies on a wide range of insurance-related issues, including medical savings accounts, Medicare reform, mandated benefits, state reforms, guaranteed issue and community rating.

We provide educational materials for consumers, legislators, employers and other interested parties. We cannot, however, provide guidance on individual health insurance problems or offer advice regarding specific insurance companies and their products.
